Workshop At A Glance
Finding The Right Places Without All Of The Searching
With over 360 miles of stunning coastline in Oregon, you could spend a lifetime exploring its caves, dunes, and cliffsides. I have spent years wandering these coastlines looking for great photographic locations. During the five days that we are together, we will barely be able to scratch the surface of this coastal paradise, so we will be focusing on an area with immense diversity when it comes to the types of landscapes on offer. With features like Thor's Well, The Oregon Dunes, and Face Rock close to our hotels, photographic opportunities are literally at our doorstep.
Photography Both Day And Night
Just because the sun has set doesn't mean that your opportunity to create images also has to come to an end. This workshop and its locations are set up around moon, tide and sun cycles. This gives us the best ability to capture dynamic images at peak time. The same foreground under sunlight and moonlight takes on a totally different personality. We should also have an opportunity for some milky way photography.
We will be using graduated neutral density filters during daylight hours in the field to help balance the light entering the camera at the time of the exposure.
Learn Behind Both The Camera And The Computer
Image creation doesn't end at the click of a shutter. When we are not out roaming the lands creating images, we will have group sessions with Adobe Lightroom™ along with classes on controlling exposure and creating captivating landscapes. During this time we will work on editing as well as look at a few of your images and see what improvements could be made. This workshop is made to not only help you get great images in one of the world's premier locations but to send you home with a better understanding of what makes a great image and how to capture what your mind's eye is seeing.
-Instruction from knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructors that love what they do
-Snacks and water while on our excursions
